About Nathaniel

Hello Everybody!

My name is Nathaniel Wolos, I’ve lived in the Midwest most of my life and been in Indiana for the past ten years.  I went to school at Indiana University in Bloomington, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Public and Environmental Affairs.

Throughout my years in Bloomington I made time to work with a number of charitable and community organizations.  I spent a lot of time volunteering, first at Second Helpings in Indianapolis , a non-profit community kitchen and pantry; at Sweet Hickory, a community art space/gallery and record store in Bloomington;  and at The Bike Project in Bloomington and  Freewheelin’ Community Bikes in Indianapolis.  two non-profit bike shops building affordable bikes and teaching bicycle repair to disadvantaged youth.  These groups gave me the opportunity to interact with individuals in the community who really need help.

I also entered into multiple internships.  In the fall of 2008 I interned with the Democratic Party of Bloomington working on the Baron Hill Campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives.  I quickly rose in the ranks of interns,  recruiting a substantial number of volunteers to come out and support their party.  As mentioned earlier, in 2011 I interned at the Bloomington Bike Project where I used my people skills to get volunteers while also supporting the group’s efforts.  In addition, in 2011 I interned with Piradical Productions in Indianapolis,  a company that promotes local and regional music groups.

In 2006, while going to school, I  started my own business making custom merchandise for bands and organizations.  You can find more information under the Decaying Youth Buttons tab or by clicking here.  Recently, I started a community group for vegans in Indianapolis, which has grown exponentially over the last year.  You can find information under the Indy Vegans tab or by clicking here.

During my Sophomore Year (2009) I started my own record label (www.uselessworldrecords.com) and put out four records during my stay in Bloomington.  This gave me the opportunity to interact with different people as I helped bands get their music out to a larger audience.

I have many interests and am driven to succeed.  I love being around people and have a strong sense of community.  I am also very goal oriented, with an equally strong commitment to completing the projects I have undertaken.  I look forward to many exciting and productive opportunities in the coming years.
